Correction to previous entry: "humor in men's 'members'" should be "humour in men's 'members.'"
We apologize for the misprint and thank our Canadian audience for benefiting us with their commonwealth heritage awareness. :)
Justin sent me this link today: http://www.msnbc.com/news/790862.asp?0bl=-0. There's a new show in town -- "The Talking Cock." In response to the Vagina Monologues, a British comedian mailed out 3,000 surveys, which he shaped into a one-man show discussing the vagaries, sensitivities, and humor in men's "members."
I think this is excellent. Excluding men from discourse on the role of gender in our lives not only antagonizes them, but wrongly denies that gender plays a role in their lives. We're all gendered beings and we are all constrained by the expectations placed on because of our gender. I don't forsee living in a society devoid of men (nor would I choose to), so it seems that feminism would limit its own progress by disenfranchising half the population who could, instead, become allies.
Okay, I should get back to systems programming now.
